Dessert
A "Dessert" is a meal course that usually comes after dinner. Most often Dessert foods are of sweet food but can also be of a strongly flavored food, such as cheese, like cheesecake. The world dessert comes from the Old French word "desservir", which means 'to clear the table'. Oftentimes in the English language dessert is confused with the word desert, which is a barren piece of land normally with sand as soil. During this season of festive treats, why not take a holiday from the typical buttered-down desserts? Now you can whip up sweet favorites for your family and guests that are full of rich flavor with less saturated fat.
SHEERA
It is a Maharashtra special dessert that is healthy and delicious
Ingredients-
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 7 cashew
- ½ cup sooji
- 1 cup of milk and ½ cup of water
- 3/4 khand
- 2/4 elaichi
- 2/4 Kesar
STEPS :
- -In a pan add 2 tbsp ghee and roast 7 cashew on low flame, Then add ½ cup sooji on it and roast for 7 minutes on low flame. keep aside
- After that
- -In a large Pan pour 1 cup milk and ½ cup water
- - Then add 3/4 cup of Khand, 2/4 cup of Kesar, and 2/4 cup of elaichi to it. After 2 minutes add roasted sooji and cashew to it.
- - The sooji will absorb all the milk and turn into a lump-free mixture.
- - Now we have to mix well, making sure everything is well combined.
- - Cover and simmer for 5 minutes making sure sooji is cooked completely. your healthy dessert is ready to eat.
MANGO ICECREAM
Ingredients :
- Honey- Half cup
- Saffron: 1 pinch
- Mango: 6
- Fresh Cream: 150 ml
- Pista: 1 pinch
STEPS :
- - Peel the mango, Cut its flesh Add it to the blender jar, and make a mango puree.
- - Put the mango puree into a bowl and add fresh cream to it.
- -Add saffron and 1 pinch of the pista to the mixture. Mix well and add some honey according to your taste.
- -Mix every ingredient and then transfer to a freezer-proof container. Keep that container in a freezer for 7-8 hours until the ice cream is set.
- -Once the ice cream is set serve it with some fresh mango cubes.
MODAK
Ingredients:
- Dates
- Almond
- Cashew
- Walnut
- Raisins
- Coconut Dry
- Poppy seeds
- Ghee (Cow) – 100 gm
STEPS:
- -Roast all nuts in ghee individually and crush them.
- -Then take dates and separate seeds from them then make a paste.
- -Put all the above ingredients together to form a dough and mold it into modak.
- -At last Garnish with poppy seeds. Enjoy your meal
ARSE
Traditional Uttarakhand Sweet dish made on the occasion of marriage, religious functions, festivals.
Ingredients-
- 500 gm Rice
- 400 gm Jaggery
- 6 tsp Ghee
- 3 to 4 Green cardamom
- Mustard oil (for frying)
STEPS
- - Soak the rice into the water overnight. Drain out the water and make them dry to grind. Grind it until it becomes a fine powder.
- - In another pan, make a syrup and then add green cardamon.
- - Mix rice powder in it to make dough.
- - Make medium size balls of the mixture.
- - Heat oil in frying pan to fry (deep fry) the balls.
- - Take out the balls in paper to soak up extra oil.
- - Serve hot.
Jhangore ki Kheer
Ingredients :
- 600 gm barnyard millet(Jhangora)
- 300 gm sugar
- 8 cup milk
- 60 gm cashews
- 60 gm raisins
- 4 drops kewra essence
STEPS:
- - Wash the barnyard millet (Jhangora), then soak it in the water for some time. Meanwhile, take a deep pan and boil milk over medium flame.
- - When milk is boiled, gently add soaked jhangora in milk while stirring constantly. Ensure that there are no lumps formed. Now, add sugar and mix the ingredients well. Cook over medium flame until sugar dissolves completely.
- -Then, add kewra essence and mix it well with a large spoon. Cook until you get the desired consistency. Remove from flame. Garnish with raisins and cashews. Serve warm.
